Change to F10000302 on S197 V6 Mustang has made a massive difference in overall engine performance and drivability! It now feels like a nice little snappy kicker again (have SCT tune on it), as it used to be before ethanol fuels like E5 and E10 were introduced. Believe it or not but over time these fuels destroy legacy pumps not made for ethanol blends. I ended up hearing funky squeaky noise from the tank area when having higher engine loads, going uphill or accelerating. The pump duty cycle was fluctuating between 0,42 and 0,75 whereas now with Walbro F1 It goes around 0,29 in steady stream. The engine was running lean and rough, losing pressure across injectors, fluctuating between 30 and 70% whilst with Walbro F1 average is 57% (min 49,8 max 65,5%) in demanding conditions. Drivability became so crap so I gave up on taking the car out for any longer trips. To cure the situation I did some research and ended up with Walbro F1 and got it dropped in to an aftermarket Airtex E2457M hat, which apart from the squeaky old pump seemed in good order. In conclusion I do 100% recommend the upgrade and TOMSON shop for delivery!
