Performance Friction Direct Drive brake pads 097 compound Porsche 996 C2, C4 rear
97 Pad Compounds: Applications that demand excellent wear and modulation
A favourite of sports car endurance and NASCAR racing since its debut, winning races in CART, ALMS, Grand Am, ASA and Club Racing, 97 compound has less initial bite and average torque than 01. It has great modulation, a very flat torque curve and enhanced release characteristics. 97 is considered PFC’s “Endurance Compound” with the lowest wear of any PFC compound and is also highly recommended as a general purpose pad for Club Racing and Track Day events.
All Performance Friction compounds have similar relative density, structural integrity, compressibility and Rockwell hardness. In the range of medium to hard, Performance Friction pads are among the few that can offer excellent stopping power plus excellent wear characteristics of both the pad and disc. The difference in compounds is a measure of the characteristics of that compound, rather than a measure of its softness or hardness.
